Let’s Try This Together: The Salt Water Reset
Have you ever had one of those weeks where everything feels a bit... heavy? Like you’re walking through spiritual molasses, and no matter how hard you push, the "vibe" just isn't shifting?
I’ve been looking into a simple practice that’s been around for ages, and honestly, I think it’s time for a reset. I’m going to give it a try today, and I’d love for you to join me.
There’s a lot of "expert" advice out there about this ritual—people telling you that you must use your birth name or follow a hundred tiny rules. Personally? I think that’s mostly noise. The Universe isn't a government office checking your ID; it responds to your heart and your energy. A name is just a label. What matters is the you behind it.
So, let’s keep this simple, actionable, and real.
The Toolkit
You probably already have everything you need in your kitchen:
- A glass bowl.
- Some salt (any kind).
- A piece of paper or a tissue.
The Flow
- Write It Down: Grab that piece of paper. Write your name—the one you use, the one that feels like you—and a simple intention. Maybe it’s "Clarity," "New Opportunities," or just "Peace."
- Mix the Elements: Fill your bowl with water and a good handful of salt. Give it a stir. While you do, imagine you’re loosening up all that stuck energy that’s been holding you back.
- Submerge: Place your paper in the water. Watch it soak through. This is the moment where you’re basically saying, "Okay, Universe, I’m handing this over to you to clean up and clarify."
- Let it Sit: Put the bowl on a windowsill or a table for 24 hours. Let it catch the daylight. Every time you walk past it, let it be a reminder that you’ve already set the wheels in motion.
- Release: After a day, take it outside and pour it into the dirt. If you don't have a patch of earth nearby, pouring it down the sink is perfectly fine—the intention of "releasing" it is what truly counts.
Why We’re Doing This
For me, the real magic here is detachment. We spend so much time gripping our goals so tightly that we don't leave any room for them to actually breathe. By putting your intention into the water and then letting it go, you’re practicing the art of surrender. You’re trusting that you’ve been heard.
I’m setting my bowl up right after I post this. No stress, no "perfect" way to do it—just an honest moment of setting an intention.
Join the Experiment
I want to hear from you. Are you in?
Drop a comment below and just type "I'm in" if you're joining me in this 24-hour reset. Let's check back in a few days and see if the air feels a little lighter. I have a feeling it might.
